IoT for Security

The physical security industry is undergoing a paradigm shift. Cameras are becoming high-resolution, alarms are becoming intelligent, and access control systems are moving to the cloud. The common thread is the need for communication. A surveillance camera that cannot send its images to the monitoring center is, in practice, blind.

Traditionally, people have relied on fixed internet lines. But cables can be cut. And construction sites, temporary events, or remote locations rarely have fiber installed. Here, mobile IoT connectivity is the only way forward—if done right.

Cameras require bandwidth and control

Streaming HD video over mobile networks places high demands on the network. It's not just about speed, but also about stability over time. A regular prepaid card may work one day and be overloaded the next. With Advisera's business solutions, you get access to prioritized data.

But video also consumes data. A significant amount of data. There is a high risk of "Bill Shock" if a camera is misconfigured and begins transmitting constantly instead of only when motion is detected. In Cisco IoT Control Center, you can view consumption in real time and set strict limits that will disconnect the camera or alert you before your budget is exceeded.

Fixed IP addresses for secure access

In order for an alarm center or technician to connect to a camera or NVR (recorder) remotely, a public, fixed IP address is often required. This is rarely standard with regular operators. We offer fixed IP addresses directly on the SIM card.

For even greater security, we provide solutions with VPN tunnels. This makes the cameras completely invisible to the internet and accessible only via your own secure connection. This eliminates the risk of unauthorized persons taking over the camera and viewing your business.

Monitoring of monitoring

How do you know that the alarm is working right now? With our platform, you can set up what we call "Heartbeat" monitoring. The system detects that the SIM card is active and "alive." If the device goes silent—perhaps due to a power outage, sabotage, or a jammer—you will receive an alarm directly in the portal.

Security is about minimizing risks. We ensure that your connection does not become the weak link in your security chain.

Frequently asked questions about connected security (FAQ)

Do 4G cameras work as well as wired ones?

With today's 4G and 5G technology, response times and bandwidth are perfectly adequate for professional surveillance, provided you have good coverage. Our cards automatically select the best operator for the location.

What happens in the event of a power failure?

Since our SIM cards are often located in devices that have battery backup (UPS), and the mobile network has its own backup power, the alarm continues to function even when the house goes dark. This provides greater security than fixed broadband, which often goes down immediately in the event of a power outage.

Can I use the SIM card in a trail camera or boat alarm?

Yes, the technology is the same whether it's a construction site, a warehouse, or a boat. Our platform scales from a single device to thousands, so you get the same professional tools regardless of the size of your security needs.
